Friday afternoon: landing and getting into town

The weekend starts the moment the group walks out of arrivals. The worst possible opening is ten people arguing over taxis and whose suitcase goes where. So book the transfer ahead: the driver waits in the hall with a name sign, everyone rides in one minibus and the trip back to the airport is sorted too. A return airport transfer costs €36 per person.

Want the party to start before you reach the hotel? Swap the minibus for a limo with a chilled bottle of bubbly. The Lincoln takes up to 8 people; bigger groups go for the stretch limo or a party bus with beer flowing all the way into town.

Once you have checked in, give everyone an hour to shower and regroup. Friday is long, and the best nights start slowly. If people land on different flights, send us the flight numbers and we split the transfers.

Friday night: food, beer and the first bars

Don't fire every shot on the first night. Start with a proper meal: Czech food is heavy, which is exactly what a group needs before the first round. Goulash with dumplings, big draught beers and strudel in a pub with a room just for you comes to roughly €36 per person.

After that you have two options. A private walk through Prague's historic pubs runs from Strahov Monastery across Charles Bridge into the Old Town, and the guide has a story for every stop. It costs €44 per person. If you want a bigger crowd and louder music, join the international pub crawl with an open bar and several clubs for €28 per person. You share it with other travellers, fancy dress stays at the hotel, and anyone who shows up drunk will not get in.

Around midnight, agree who is heading to bed. Saturday is the main event, and the groom should be conscious for it.

Saturday daytime: the headline activity

Saturday afternoon is for the thing people will still be talking about at the wedding. The classic choice is live-fire shooting. A bus takes you to an indoor range, a licensed instructor stays with you the whole time, and 50 rounds from five guns cost €116 per person. Only people who arrive sober and carry photo ID get to shoot.

Want more noise? A ride in a real tracked tank on an off-road course outside Prague is €84 per person, and after a briefing anyone who fancies it can take the levers. Competitive groups love go-karting: two 10-minute sessions cost €64 per person.

If your crew rates beer over adrenaline, go for the beer challenge: two hours of unlimited beer and four team games. Whatever you pick, schedule it for late morning or early afternoon. You will need the evening for a shower and dinner.

Saturday night: dinner and the big night out

Start the main night at the table. A medieval tavern in the Old Town serves five courses with unlimited wine and beer and two hours of show on the side. It starts at 8 pm and costs €80 per person. Prefer a view? Take the group on a private boat: an hour on the Vltava past Charles Bridge with unlimited beer, wine and soft drinks is €60 per person.

Between dinner and the club, make the ride part of the fun. Groups of 18 or more fit the XXXL party bus with its own bar and bartender; smaller crews do fine in a limo.

The peak of the night is the club. A VIP section at Duplex, above Wenceslas Square, means no queue, your own table and bar credit, all for €180 per person. Door staff in Prague clubs can be strict, so carry ID and arrive in decent shape.

18+ extras: only if the group wants them

Strip shows and cabarets are not a compulsory part of a stag do, and we never add any of it to the plan automatically. If the group does want it, it belongs on Saturday night, ideally between dinner and the club.

The easiest option is Darling Cabaret, a few minutes from Wenceslas Square: you are on the guest list, a table is held and everyone has drinks credit, for €68 per person. It is an adults-only striptease cabaret, not a regular club. A private strip show comes to wherever you are celebrating, lasts 15 minutes and costs €160 for the whole group, so in a bigger crew it works out cheap per head. For a groom his mates swear cannot be surprised, there is mud wrestling.

Sunday: recovery and the trip home

Sunday has one job: get everyone to the airport on their own two feet. The go-to fix after a long night is the beer spa. An hour in an oak tub, a sauna and unlimited beer cost €88 per person. The spa is yours alone for the whole slot, so nobody worries about how they look.

If your flight is in the evening, have a late lunch at the Strahov Monastery brewery next to Prague Castle. Five small beers, goulash cooked in dark beer and strudel cost €72 per person, and afterwards you walk down to Lesser Town. Anyone who mostly needs water and quiet can spend the day at the Aquapalace water park, with transfers there and back.

The return airport transfer picks you up 2.5 hours before departure. After checking out, leave your bags at reception if the hotel allows it, so you're not dragging them around town.

Practical tips before you enquire

Plan early. Shooting ranges, boats and party buses on weekends from May to September go first, so start 4 to 8 weeks ahead. We will try a shorter lead time too, there is just less to choose from.

Agree a kitty for drinks, taxis and small costs. It saves a lot of maths at the bar and nobody ends the weekend owing anyone. Stay as close to the centre as you can: most of the programme happens in the Old and New Town, night trams run through the small hours and a ride-hailing app gets you a car in minutes. Skip flagging down cabs on the street.
