Relax and spa: a slow start

Not every hen party has to open with shots. If the bride mostly wants time with her girls, start at the beer spa. You sit two to an oak tub, there is a sauna and unlimited beer, and the place is yours for the whole hour. It costs €88 per person and works just as well the morning after.

Prefer water to beer? Spend the whole day at the Aquapalace water park: slides, a wave pool, whirlpools and quiet zones with loungers, with transfers from your accommodation and back included in €92 per person. Pack a swimsuit. Both are also a good call if someone in the group isn't drinking and wants a day that works without alcohol.

Don't want to plan any of it? The hen party package combines a cocktail or pole dancing class, a boat with prosecco, a spa or wellness break and a tip for the evening. It is built for 6 or more and comes to around €140 per person.

Drinks and cocktails: the girls behind the bar

At a cocktail class you spend two hours as bartenders. A pro walks you through three classics, and everyone shakes, garnishes and drinks her own. The bar is yours alone, the minimum is 6 people and it costs €48 per person. An alcohol-free version can be arranged.

The outdoor alternative is giant prosecco pong: barrels instead of cups, a football instead of a ping-pong ball and an hour of unlimited prosecco. An instructor splits the teams and keeps score, and transfers both ways are included in €60 per person. In the colder months the game moves into a heated tent.

If the bride would rather have beer, try a tasting of seven Czech beers with an expert for €40 per person. It is shared with other guests and needs at least 5 of you. Any of the three makes a good warm-up before dinner.

Games and moves: something to remember

Pole dancing sounds bold, but in practice it is mostly laughter and photos. The group warms up together, then learns the basic positions and a few tricks a complete beginner can pull off. The studio in the centre is yours alone for 90 minutes, the minimum is 6 and it costs €60 per person. Bring leggings and a T-shirt.

For girls who like puzzles there is an escape room: one hour, a locked room and teamwork under pressure, for €44 per person. Competitive groups love go-karting, where the bride finally gets to overtake everyone.

If you like a good story, take an evening witch tour through the Old Town, with the executioner’s house, ghost legends, a small spell and one drink each. It costs €36 per person and the date has to be arranged in advance. It makes an easy bridge between the afternoon and dinner.

On the water: Prague from the Vltava

Prague looks its best from the river, and with glasses clinking it becomes one of the highlights of the whole weekend. For a small group, a private mini yacht with a captain and a welcome bottle of prosecco is ideal. The base boat for 5 people costs €396 for the whole boat and an hour on the water; bigger groups get bigger boats.

Larger groups take a private party boat. You spend an hour cruising past Charles Bridge, Lesser Town and Prague Castle, beer, wine and soft drinks are unlimited and your own music is playing. It costs €60 per person.

Fancy putting in some effort? Try the cycling beer boat for 8 to 11 people: 90 minutes, unlimited beer and €572 for the whole boat, split between everyone on board. In warm weather you can also go paddleboarding or canoeing. The best time on the river is early evening, as the castle and the bridges light up.

Dinner and the night: limo, table and club

Start the evening in style. A Lincoln limo picks up the bride and her girls from your accommodation, with a chilled bottle of bubbly and party lights inside. It takes up to 8 people, an hour costs €44 per person, and it can drop you straight at dinner.

For dinner, choose the medieval tavern with five courses, unlimited drinks and a show, or a classic Czech pub. Then on to the bars. At Chapeau Rouge, a short walk from Old Town Square, your table upstairs is held with no time limit and everyone has drinks credit; when you feel like dancing, the club is one floor down. It costs €56 per person. Save the main part of the night for Nebe, a club best known for its cocktails: guest list, your own table and drinks credit for €72 per person.

Door staff are strict, so bring ID and arrive sober. Book the dinner table ahead too, as popular places in the centre fill up at weekends.

A little naughty: 18+ extras

This part is entirely optional, and it comes last for a reason. If the bride and the girls agree on it, there are two tried options, both strictly for adults.

A male strip show is a short, 15-minute show that comes to wherever you are celebrating: an apartment, a private room in a restaurant or a boat. The price of €192 covers the whole group. If it is meant to be a surprise, tell us and every message goes through you alone.

The butler in the buff is the longer, more social version. For an hour he looks after the group, pours drinks, joins your games, poses for photos with the bride and finishes with a strip show just for you. It costs €360 for the whole group, and he needs a room or bathroom to change in.
